Hearing Aid

Written by Jojo Mallari

I used to wear a hearing aid for almost 3 years. Without it, I’m completely lost. But last January 2015, Bong & I were asked to take the place of Bro. Rey & Sis. Baby Sarmenta to attend the International Eucharistic Congress in Cebu.  It was my first time to go there so I was excited.

On the 2nd day of the Eucharistic Congress, while at mass, my hearing aid started malfunctioning.  I could not hear anything clearly.  I then asked the Lord, “please excuse me from the mass and the rest of the activities.”  I thought I’d just go back to the room to read and sleep.

Not long after that talk with Him, I felt a soft gush of wind into my ear and I began to hear a lot clearer.  I was so amazed that I was able to follow and finish the mass.  All I did that day was to observe and listen to conversations around me.  I wanted to find out how long my unaided free hearing would last. Praise God!  I have not needed a hearing aid since then!
